“I’ve always been a rebel. I never do things the way they’re supposed to be done. Either I go in the opposite direction or I create a new direction for myself, regardless of what the rules are or what society says.”

“I enjoyed fame as a model but music was my inspiration. I began singing at parties, on table-tops in Paris, and someone saw a chance of making some money. So I guess I got lucky.”  – Grace Jones

So, I heard it was Detroit Day. In honor of what is, was and will be of Detroit lets give a standing ovation to the heart of the D, the people!  I leave you with a few stills from photoshoots during the early stages of Cha Studio all MADE IN DETROIT. In fact one of our first shows was at The DIA, Detroit Institute of Art with Pecha Kucha. That was then, this is now – lets continue to support the D!

As a LA girl I remember buying my first pair of Durango’s. I was 14 and bought them at the Beverly Center with my own money ; ) I had my own jewelry biz which allowed me some freedom and power of paying for what I wanted. Aside from getting a heel replacement from the notorious ‘Ponytail’ on U Street in D.C. they maintained their brilliance – people are never shy to compliment me on my boots + dress style I cultivated as a teenager in LA.
